About Us

Rotary International is a worldwide volunteer organization of business, professional, and community leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and help build goodwill and peace in the world through charitable endeavors. The Rotary Club of Batesville, Indiana is a chartered member of Rotary International. It is through the generosity of the Director and membership of the Hillcrest Country Club that we are able to provide this outstanding venue.

 

The Rotary Club of Batesville Indiana is holding a golf tournament at Hillcrest Country Club for the purpose of raising enough funds to start scholarships for students in the Batesville area plus starting a fund at the Southeastern Indiana Career Center to assist students in paying class fees.

 

The scholarships for students going to 2 or 4 year schools will be awarded based on community service, need, then grades. The account at the Southeastern Career Center will dispense the funds on an as needed basis. For any remaining funds, Batesville Rotary will support many worthy projects locally and globally.  Those projects include:

 

  • The Dictionary Project - Each 3rd grader in the Batesville schools receives a dictionary

  • Batesville Community Education Foundation’s Rotary Student Opportunity Fund – financial assistance to students in need of supplies

  • Project T3 filling backpacks for children in need

  • Food Pantry support with financial and food donations

  • Children’s Summer Food Program

  • Bell ringing for the Ripley County Salvation Army

  • Co-sponsor of Batesville’s annual National Prayer Breakfast

  • ShelterBox USA to aid victims of disaster around the world

  • Polio eradication around the world. It still exists in other countries

  • Sponsorship of the Rotary Interact service clubs at BMS and BHS

  • Batesville Indiana Beautification support cleaning public areas in downtown Batesville

  • Secret Santa for Safe Passage Family

  • KIVA microlending to entrepreneurs around the world​

  • Critical Issue Forums

  • Purchasing surveillance cameras for the Batesville Police Department​

  • Sponsor a student in Haiti


 

Hillcrest Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole private member-owned club in Batesville, Indiana. From simple beginnings in 1914, Hillcrest has grown into a premier facility focused on providing an exceptional private club experience for every member of the family and their guest.
